As the others have said, the Goodreads metadata source plugin is working to populate the goodreads identifier here. You might want to check the plugins configuration to make sure that saving the identifier is enabled.

If you think something is going wrong, post the contents of the log when you fetch the metadata. There is a button at the bottom of the results dialog to show the log.
