The two first points on my list are likely to happen.

I am not so sure I agree with you on the likelihood of the third: reMarkable have already indicated that OCR for handwriting is likely to be implemented in the future. Recognizing a limited set of markup symbols would arguably be a much easier task, and should be within the capability of the device.
