Not if the eBook is side loaded. Then you still have a copy. I cannot see anyone deleting a book from their Calibre library just to be able to loan a book. Plus, there's a chance there's a copy in the ADE, nook, and/or K4PC libraries. Also, if the eBook has no DRM, then the person you lend your Reader to can make a copy to keep.
