I was a teen during Hurricane Agnes, 1972. It managed to dump a ton of water as far north as Pennsylvania (further too, but that's where I was). It was impressive seeing all the water, tho it didn't negatively affect us.
It hit Mexico, FL, GA, SC, NC, went back out to the ocean and strengthened again. And came back inland to NY and even (as just an extratropical cyclone) the northwest of Great Britain. Per Wikipedia.
