cool, thanks again for quick reply. as of now its totally unresponsive, i mean, now upon sliding the slider or putting on charge, no light appears. Also I did remove the old sd and checked in laptop, the books storage part atleast appears to be not corrupted.
UPDATE : writing your image, it gives write error at 17%, happened twice, on the original sd, so it does seem like a sd card fault, so i guess i can bring my kobo back from dead with another sd. only one i got is 2 gb so will have to wait i guess
Update 2 : flashed it on 2gb sd card. Only blue light lights up and it goes back to being dead! hardware issue?
used sdformatter on original sd card, flashed image, with same result, blue light and then dead
