I actually wrongly attributed it to your plugin when in fact it's Kindle Previewer that's adding the space. It didn't used to do it before so I'm guessing it started with v. 3.13. Your plugin is just taking the output of Previewer as is. I guess I have to resort to deleting those spans with regex, now. (Thanks JSWolf, for the tip!)
