Some of that sounds like what happened with my Glo. Weird flakiness, but never a refusal to turn on. After a while I replaced the internal SD card, and it was fine again.

Did order a second hand Glo HD in the meantime, that takes te pressure of it. But I really like the Glo. It's light, it has a nice light and very good reading for kebup (not so much for PDF..).
