Dictionaries vs. text to speech

Hi!

I've bought and downloaded three Collins dictionaries for my Kindle Keyboard and each of the book descriptions says: text to speech is enabled.

Though when I open the books, text to speech is not available for any of them. Why?

Actually, what does it depend on that an ebook is text to speech compatible or not?

Though when I just sideloaded an ebook, the text to speech is available for that too. Why?
