My Kobo Touch is on the same FW version as yours and I do not see this problem. What difference might there be between our devices? My Touch is a C-model, and I have installed the complete FW (not only the KoboRoot.tgz).

I am not sure what your are talking about. What buttons to exit? When you touch the screen, is there no "< books" on the bottom menu bar? Or can you not open the main menu and go to home or library?
