Can you say "Free Enterprise, Capitalism?
If you were a stockholder, would you want them to cut the prices to the bone?
And by the way, what is your idea of a 'fair' price? How would you come to this conclusion?
If you were an author, would you want to lose out on the profits made by cutting the prices?
Are you in anyway involved with the publishing business enabling you to make statements about what should or shouldn't be charged, or are you just taking quotes from sources?
You don't like the prices? Fine, don't buy.
If you can afford the cost of an ebook device, you need to take into consideration that all books are not free, and sometimes you'll have to pay more for a particular book that you want. Its part of the package.
If you can't deal with that, don't buy the reader.
