As I understand things, the jailbreak is what allows Mrpi and screen savers and all hacks to work. ONLY the jailbreak itself survives firmware upgrades. You must install all the subsequent pieces again after a firmware upgrade. If you haven't done the basic jailbreak before reaching certain versions, you are out of luck. (Unless/until other programmers come along and find a new jailbreak for us.)
