Family Ties by the late English author Marguerite Steen (Wikipedia), a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature whose works enjoyed a period of popularity in the 1930s and 1940s, is her vintage standalone literary fiction family drama novel focusing on sibling rivalry and solidarity elements, exploring the complicated ties surrounding two half-brothers who jointly set up a publishing firm, but find themselves running into personal and professional troubles as they begin to disagree more and more, and become embroiled in situations exarcerbated by their respective spouses and in-laws, free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press's Odyssey imprint.

When Simon Crome and his half-brother, Daniel Lygon, set up a publishing firm, they work as hard as possible to ensure its success…
