Metadata Plugboards - Question about title sort

Hello!

I've recently used this guide to set up shelf management in my Kobo Aura H20.

I set up the option for <Series> - <Number> - <Title>, and chose kepub for format and title sort for destination.

I wanted for the series to be sorted by the renamed title with the series at the front (i.e Poirot - 01 - The Mysterious Affair at Styles but to display the unedited title on screen (so it would just look like "The Mysterious Affair at Styles") on screen. (This is because I use the Kobo Plugin in Calibre to sync the series underneath the book title, and would prefer not to have a double up of series information on the screen.)

However, it doesn't seem to have worked, as my kobo is still sorting the books by their visible title (not their 'title sort').

My question is: does the kobo understand 'title sort', and is it possible to set up the library to sort by one metadata but display another?

Was it an error to select kepub instead of epub?

Any help would be greatly appreciated
