In Canada the base Kobo is $130. The PW3 is $140. The $80 Kindle is irrelevant to the comparison as Kobo doesn't produce such a low-functionality unit. Kobo is selling far less books on their devices than Amazon, so it's safe to say neither company is selling at cost.
