I've had and have some Sony Readers. I have a 650 and a T1. The T1 is very slow to display hi-res images. I've not tried with multiple hi-res images in a given flow. But older Sony may not be so forgiving and may not work as well.

Given that you have a Kobo Mini, you know what you can do with a Kobo. I have the original H2O and I would highly recommend the H2O2.
