We are second shift people so tomorrow doesn't mean tomorrow for us like most people. It means later in a span of a few hours. Dropbox stopped working on the 4.4.9.344 firmware. After I patched I tried to get books and I couldn't. After I posted I couldn't to you a few weeks ago then someone PMed me a work around but that no longer works in 4.5. The only thing I have found to work is Gmail by sending an email with attachments to yourself.
Someone PM that Dropbox still works on 4.3 firmware and they downgraded.
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. There is ABSOLUTELY no way that anyone could interpret your post in the 4.4.9344 thread as anything other than 4.4.9344 had been installed on your device. What else could "Update just came through" mean? Then coming to this thread THREE days later and saying something works without being explicit that you were NOT talking about the firmware version being discussed is inexcusable. Yes, you did say you would be patching the firmware "tomorrow", but as you need to have installed the firmware before patching it, your post can only be interpreted as you would be running on unpatched 4.4.9344 until you had the chance to patch it.

But, lets ignore that post. You posted in response to a post by me how about good it was that a bug had been fixed in 4.4.x firmware. A bug that had affected you. A few days later you came back and stated that downloading from Dropbox worked. Please, PLEASE, tell me, how could anyone possibly think you were not talking about the 4.4.x firmware?

Go back and read the thread. Put yourself in someone else's shoes and interpret your posts. Really try and think through the order of posts in this thread and then tell me how it can be interpreted any other way. And then think about why it pisses me of that people are too lazy to make clear statements about what they are talking about. If you had simply included the firmware version number in you posts, there would be NONE of this crap going on.

As an Editor of this forum I get alot PMs so while something may not make sense to you it could because I was told something in private.
But, you are talking to others in public as if we know what was told to you in private. It is up to you to set the context, if it is different to the context of an existing thread.

I to get a lot of PMs and this demonstrates why they aren't always a good idea. If those PMs had been made in response to posts here, others would have seen them and been able to use that information.

The bottom line is 4.5 broke Dropbox completely work around and all. Gmail or downgrading is the only work around I have found or heard of. I hope that clears it up for you and we can move past this.
And yes, I know all that and I'm the one who told everyone it was broken and not to expect any downloads to work. What I hadn't discovered until you mentioned it in passing was that it worked for gmail attachments. And of course being told that let me experiment and work out under what circumstances downloading books using the browser in the 4.5.9587 firmware will work.
