I am a social media iconoclast, don't tweet, don't Face, never (My)Spaced out.
A co-worker insists that Reddit is the best thing since spice racks. I don't understand the attraction of spending hours sifting through troll comments and "me too" comments and "plus one" comments and obscene comments to *possibly* find a lonely sentence worth reading. But she is young, and apparently does not feel her time is valuable --- and has millions (billions?) of co-believers.
And as for what texting has done to the English language!!! I am gob-smacked at some text-speak phrases I have seen popping up in Formal Memoranda!
Does texting in other languages wreak the same sort of havoc?
