PayPal and ebay are owed by the same company, and PayPal has a well-deserved reputation for jerking its customers around, so definitely stick with credit card if you think an ebay purchase may not be on the up and up. Or better yet, buy only from reputable dealers and avoid the ebay/PayPall scam altogether.
