Some people have gotten very lucky with their bricked devices, and the kindle enters "fastboot" mode, which is a fallback way of programming it.

Others require soldering a serial port to the inside of the kindle, and as far as I can tell, may require running a script on your pc to manually type in the code of a working bootloader onto the kindle through that.


You shoudln't worry about this damages thngs inside the kindle I think, and more than it already has, the most likey thing that has happend is that the boot loader included in the KT2 image has been installed on your device.

What that will mean is that is the very first thing that boots up, and if you had the serial port connected, it would probably print an error message along the lines of "Unsupported board Id ###############", exiting.
