I think its safe to say at this point you have two options.
1. Disassemble the kindle to pull the battery, there's always a small chance you can damage it doing this, but lots of people here have done it without breaking thier device - I don't think pulling the battery is more likely to cause file damage any more thn the reboots you have already done.
2. Let the update finish. Take a deep breath and tell yourself "It's ok, Maybe the new one will come out this year, and I can jailbreak that one
