Thanks for the explanation of why it happens when I eject the drive from my P.C.

I've written to Kobo about the problem and got an ambiguous answer that says :

Please be advised that we're passing this matter on to our development team and will work to fix this for a future release.
but also says :

We will assume your issue has been resolved if we do not hear from you within 240 hours.
Which appears to say they will ditch my complaint if they haven't got updated firmware on my Glo in 10 days - somehow I don't think that will happen.
