I had a chat with Amazon Customer Service, and after some checking, the representative told me:

I will forward this to our Kindle development team so that they will add this feature as soon as possible in Kindle Eink device.

and when I asked about an expected date for this to be fixed, the reply was:

this issue is common in all the devices. In this case, I suggest you to check back in future update.
I have forwarded this to our development team. They will take of this issue

I would like people who use Word Wise to report the same, so we can have more votes for this to be fixed/implemented sooner
