4.5.9587 on Glo with external SD Card

I seem to have come across a new problem with 4.5.9587 on a Glo.

I got an OTA update today and noticed a rather odd thing when the Glo re-booted - there was a long period showing "importing content".

I have some books stored on an external microSD card as well as on the internal memory.

Whenever I power-up the Glo or disconnect it from a USB connection to my PC it goes through all the "importing content" rigmarole whether or not I have made any changes while the device is connected. This can be extremely time (and battery) consuming. This occurs if there are any books on the card (a completely empty card does not trigger the import.

I have signed out of my account and back in again to see if that would help but with no success.

The problem only happens with the external card present.

Effectively this means that I cannot use the external SD card to extend the memory, something I have been doing successfully for some years now.

I don't think this problem has been mentioned before, if it has then I must have missed it when looking for a mention. Problems involving external SD cards will be few because later models don't support them.
