Not from what I read. I see it as a Mom who changes her identity to do what she has to to try to keep her family and friends safe. I get nothing of a super hero from the vibe.

Besides, if I was trying to do the super heo thing, I could just as easily have nominated a Batman story.

Stillhouse Lake does have an average of 4.15 stars on Goodreads. So if it was as bad your you've misread into the blurb, then it would have a much lower rating.

Have you not read (or seen in the movies or on TV) of an ordinary person getting into a situation where said person does what's needed to be done to save the day without becoming a super hero?
