I believe that that requirement only applies to the Linux binary installer. You could build from source yourself to get around this. Also, why can't you have the 32bit version of those libs on your system? It seems practical and reasonable to me, Gentoo, Ubuntu, Fedora and Suse to name a few distors all ship with either 32bit libs or with easy access for adding them in their 64 bit version.
