Well and thoroughly side-tracked! I finished
A Mortal Bane, and immediately downloaded the next in the series,
A Personal Devil. Again read by Nadia May, and I devoured this as well. It finishes with a useful author's note on some of the history of the time. (Shortly after the Norman Conquest (1066), during the early days of Steven's reign (1135-1154). A time I wasn't very familiar with.)
I've already finished
A Personal Devil, and the next in the series is
not available from Audible. However, I've found it still available on Downpour (
Bone of Contention so I'm grabbing it from there. There's a fourth in the series, but it's read by a different reader, and I think if I read that one it will be in eBook format. A substantial part of my enjoyment of these books is the narration of Ms. McCaddon, who, under whatever pseudonym she uses, has always been one of my top 5 narrators.
