OK, I'm getting older and smarter here for sure. And I appreciate you telling us that what I suggested would not work for his K3.

KindleTool? I don't even know what that is! That and the info at the Virtual Development link are way over my head! I'm a 75 year old tinkerer and don't understand much or any of that.
Reading those pages I posted links to implied to me that the K3 update would go the same as it did for my K4NT (which Amazon calls it a Kindle 5th Generation) and I assumed it would work the same for his.
I ran Kubrick because I wanted to get rid of all traces of Duokan 2013 and when I did that it worked fine but Kubrick installed 4.1.1 and I then used the Amazon pages to get it up to 4.1.3 again (the latest version for the K4NT).
