Sure. I don't like accents in books. That is why I managed to read Tom Sawyer but not Huckleberry Finn.

I like a mixture of short, medium and long sentences. If the long sentences don't carry enough sustenance, or weight, or meaningfulness, and don't advance the story, then I'm unable to enjoy the book. If I don't enjoy most of the nudges and jokes, then of course I'll bail out. Hope you understand my meaning.
