If you haven't read it yet - I heartily recommend 'Bleak House' - absolutely delightful IMHO - some tedious slow sections, but overall wonderfully tongue-in-cheek handling of despicable characters.
And the film versions with either Gillian Anderson or Diana Rigg are well done.
