I just load comics through wifi, since they are large. My book library is on onedrive and that works like a charm. But I don't do this for comics, since they would use up all the space I have. If you have the storage space and data plan, why not? I guess mangas are a little bit smaller than full color comics.
My plugin will not autoconvert if you just import a comic into calibre. These options are only used by the plugin itself. But you can select all comics in zip format and then just use the convert to cbz action in the menu on the toolbar.
