Thanks for the response Kovid. But, the problems still happen without using the QC plugin. I can change a name in the booklist area (i.e. change Heinlien to Heinlein) and have the list jump to the top.
Note: this will remove the misspelled name from the list. I think that this might be the problem overall.
Also note: I have never used a right click on the author tag browser list to change a name. Mainly, I never thought of doing that.
