Well, I made a little progress, but still no cigar...

To restate the issue:

1. I have a large library of ebooks

2. I have a large list of specific authors I would like to remove from this library

3. How can I do that w/o manually one-by-one editing?

Here is what I tried:

1. Created a .csv file list of the authors to be removed with two fields,
- Title field filled with dummy data
- Author field filled with authors to be removed

2. Created a new library to import the list to

3. Used the "Import List" addon to get the list of authors and dummy titles into Calibre

4. Created an empty .epub book format for each entry (perhaps not necessary...)

5. Opened the main library and used the "Find Duplicates" addon, with settings,
- Find Library Duplicates
- Library = New authors names library
- Search Type = Title/Author
- Title Matching = Ignore
- Author Matching = Similar

Ran the duplicate search and the result was it found the duplicates.

HOWEVER, it will only let me save the results to a file or display the list of the search but will not let let me pull the results up like I normally do with Virtual Library > Current Search.

The resulting 'hits' of the dup search can be saved as a log file or displayed, but that list is still lengthy.

Does anyone know how to get around this?

Thanks.
