Possible? On the fly processing?

Hi

Is it ever possible to send "processed" files when sent to a device or downloaded from the internal server? By processing I mean doing some form of conversion, optimization etc on pdfs. For instance I can use k2optpdf to optimize my pdfs but I do not want to replace the originals in my library because they take much less space than "processed" ones. I optimize them for better mobile viewving(mostly archive.org pdfs)

Basicallyy when I download a pdf or sent a pdf to my device, Calibre will run my script first then send this new pdf to the device.

Nothing crucial, I am just wondering on theory level really.

thanks
