Now, I know that that is not my mentality; but the mentality, and others in this forum and me, probably don't represent the majority of the mentalities of other people in the developed world. After all, the people who read this forum are not just interested in ebooks, but ebooks that are "Deals, Freebies, and Resources."
A short term sale can bump a book to being an "Amazon Best Seller" and thus increase visibility. It may also be more likely to turn up in the "If you bought this you may like" lists.
