I used to have some scripts that added a new ebook and immediately converted it to the formats I need (EPUB and MOBI), regardless of its original source. They worked by first adding the book to the database, then asking calibredb for the path to the newly-added file, then converting this one to the formats needed.
This enabled a convenient email-to-Calibre interface, where I would email myself new books and immediately be able to synchronize all my e-reading devices.

With calibre 3.0 the scripts are broken - calibredb will not tell me the paths into the database anymore.

How can I achieve this functionality again?
