It does not change anything in the system image part of the file system (that we know of).

But it probably does destroy the "survival code".
I honestly do not recall.
Normally, it is only used here to clear the reboot counter.

So yes, the 'hotfix' should be re-installed, even if none of our add-ins are going to be used.

Just to protect the jail break file during updates.
Mostly because the device is now running a firmware version that can not be jail broken.
