There is also the remote, though fairly appealing possibility that with time someone cracks this device open in manner that permits own software to be put onto it. I'm not sure about the OS they are using in this model, but if it's Linux like its predecessor and can be rooted without opening or re-soldering the device like the latter, I'll be tempted to obtain one irrespective of any possible software updates from Sony's side.
