I have to think Split View support is on Amazon's feature backlog (I've sent a request for same at least 3 or 4 times). It's going to be especially desirable to have with iOS 11. While they are at it, I'd like to see them add some keyboard shortcuts, at a minimum letting you turn pages with cursor keys).

I don't have a device to try Android (7/Nougat) split-screen mode with, but I would expect Kindle for Android will work okay with that. Android apps have long had to be designed to support a greater range of screen modes to begin with.

In iOS, app developer has to explicitly support Split View. A partial list of reading apps that support it:
* iBooks
* Hoopla
* Play Books
* Marvin
* Overdrive
* Libby
* Queue (safari books online)
