Adding...I've tried out multiple ebook apps, and I believe iBooks is the only one that supports split view.

I tried to use Safari to access the Kindle Cloud Reader but it doesn't work very well. I can slide the other app, the Apple Note for example, to open but only up to one third of the screen real estate. Otherwise part of the book would be overlapped. I don't have this problem with split view if it opens a general website though such as Mobile Read.
