I suppose it depends on how fast you write, but I have tried to write fast and I don't get a sense of the device lagging behind my writing.

WOW! Thanks for sharing!! I pre-ordered and it has not shipped yet. Still waiting. Looking your sharing and comments makes me feel like 'YAYYY I got it" and makes the waiting not that painful.
