Let me briefly give my reasoning.
1. You said, "Looks like the deal is available to me through this link" I got the same link, too, and it said the same thing.
2. The popup said, "Welcome Back to Audible!" It couldn't be speaking of me as an Inactive Light member, because that's the only membership that I've had for the last several years.
3. They implied that I wasn't a new customer, but they also said, "If you believe you qualify for this offer, please feel free to contact us. We are available 24/7 to assist you." What's the point if I'm not a new customer? I might call them, and make my case.

The least that someone could say is that it is ambiguous. I'll grant that your position has more weight to it. Especially since I didn't receive the email advertisement in my email inbox.

If I am wrong, and they're going to offer trial deals like this to new customers (ones that aren't even Inactive Listeners), I might be better off canceling (if I can) my Inactive Light membership and just wait for deals like this to people who haven't had a paid membership in the last 30 days. Things like $50 off of the annual membership is a pretty good incentive.

MEMO TO AMAZON/AUDIBLE: You need to hire someone who can write ad copy more clearly.
