MobileRead Forums - View Single Post - Count of Authors does not match folders in library

Calibre shows 1219 authors but My Calibre Library contains only 1189 folders.
Is there an easy way to determine what's missing, or what the problem might be?
I've had a look at the list function of CALIBREDB with a view of creating a file for comparisons but I can't work out how to specify a destination for the output.
