So, this is essentially my first time importing a Calibre Library from an old computer to a new one. I've run into an unknown error. I perused
https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/faq...ter-to-another as well as threads in this forum for answers. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any.
Here, very briefly, are the steps I took:
1. On old computer: Calibre Library --> Import/Export all calibre data
2. Copied the metadata folder to an external drive.
3. Plugged the external drive to the new computer.
4. Downloaded the latest version of Calibre Library
5. On new computer: Calibre Library --> Import/Export all calibre data
6. Selected the correct folder with the metadata.
7. Could not select the folder 'Documents/Calibre Library' because it "was not empty"
8. Created a sub-folder 'Documents/Calibre Library/Library
9. Imported the library (takes a few minutes), then an error message appears:
"Failed to import data. Click "Show Details" for more information.
10. Click 'Show Details'
11. It reads:
Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\dialogs\exim.py", line 140, in fun_action
File "site-packages\calibre\utils\exim.py", line 360, in import_data WindowsError: [Error 5] Access is denied
I have tried the process two times now with exactly the same result.
Anybody here have some advice?
