You can delet downloaded books by opening them, accessing the controls and clicking download. I know this is not quite ideal. It's on my TODO list to add both the ability to search/sort and perform actions such as delete directly from the view all downloaded books page.
The error comes because you have your book list mode to details instead of cover grid -- I forgot to add handling for detailed list in that view, will be fixed in the next release.
