Was the account it worked with the account it was sent to? Or had you recently used another "miss you" code with the account it didn't work with?

As critical as everyone is about the coupons working and not working, it is very unlikely that this is random. It is most likely that it is all following some complicated set of rules that we don't know. And because they are being used in ways that they were not intended to be used (eg. "miss you" codes being used on accounts they were not sent to).
