Interestingly, despite that being released as an Office version for Android devices running versions previous to 4.4 Play Store also reported that as incompatible with my device. Not a lot of love for the Boox Max (or Carta) out there.
I wonder how the development team reasoned when they decided to release a full Android device with a crippled OS? As it stand right now it is a single purpose glorified freakishly expensive PDF reader with half decent annotation tools. Selecting text in NeoReader 2.0 and add a highlight or annotation is a hit and miss proposition due to screen flicker. A few times just as I've finished making my text selection and as the toolbar appears the screen feels the need to refresh and shakes of both tool bar and text selection and the process has to start over from the beginning.
It probably helps if you have the patience of Steve Scully when using this device.
