I am afraid I've just lost some of mine. I bought the device for this functionality but without a backup method it is too risky for some activities. I like the device and all but at the same time I am a bit disappointed about the lack of editable backups.
To avoid losing notes in most case you have to exit by pressing back button, not home button.
