As far as beans are concerned, you'd need to look for a cookbook for goober peas (peanuts)--they're kind of like a bean (I think that they're actually not a nut, either, but I've forgotten now what category they supposedly fit into) and they grow all over south Georgia, as I'm sure that you know.
As far as BBQ is concerned . . . . I don't think that anyone in Georgia can make good BBQ. I've tried joints all up and down I-75, and I haven't found a good one yet. Maybe you could find some good BBQ if you're in Georgia, but close to South Carolina or north Alabama . . . .

On the goober peas, the word that is hiding from you is legumes. This is because they are in pods, not grown on a tree.
If you get off the Interstate, you might have better luck.
I have yet to find good Interstate food.
