What I like about it is that I can add any film or series to my Watchlist that is available for streaming even if not licensed to be free with Prime. With Netflix, they only have the content they've licensed. The difference is that with Amazon, whenever the mood strikes I can then just pay to watch something streamable that's not on Prime directly from my list, and it's also great when I look at my Watchlist and find something that wasn't Prime has become so.

The choice IS nice. Free is great and all, but sometimes it's about watching what I want
when I want. I even occasionally purchase entire seasons of shows I like from Amazon Video. My favorite shows get cancelled too early all the time. So I figure waiting until I can watch them for free only helps contribute to their early demise. Don't mind doing my part for things I enjoy.
