I don't own a TV and haven't for over a decade. In fact for most of my life I haven't owned a TV. I have Netflix. I have Amazon Prime Videos. I have Youtube. When would I ever had time to watch TV?
All but one of my neighbors does own TV and we're in a rural area with no cable network available so that means either DISH or Direct. Most of my neighbors are paying considerably more for their satellite TV than I am for my internet and Netflix and Prime combined. And most make a lot less in Social Security than I do. Some make a lot less than half what I make and still have satellite TV. And a couple of them rent their TV sets at outrageous prices.
A lot of people don't realize just how expensive poverty can be.

Tell your Dish friends to ask about the Flex plans. My bill went from 100+ to 64 when I dropped the kid stuff and a few other channels.
